Israel lifts most civil defence restrictions following security review
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced a nationwide easing of civil defence measures, following an updated assessment conducted in coordination with the Home Front Command.
In a statement, the IDF said that from 16:00 on April 17 until 20:00 on April 23, the country will move to full activity levels with no general restrictions, Caliber.Az reports.
An exception will apply to frontline areas, where public gatherings will be limited to up to 1,000 people until 20:00 on Saturday, 18 April. After that time, the restriction will also be lifted.
The military said the Home Front Command would continue to carry out ongoing situational assessments, adding that any further changes to civilian defence policies would be communicated to the public as necessary.
The move signals a cautious return to normalcy amid evolving security conditions, with authorities emphasising continued vigilance.
