Ukraine targets key Russian drone hub "Rubicon" in overnight strike VIDEO
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces of Ukraine said it carried out a strike on a Russian logistics base linked to a classified unmanned technology centre known as “Rubicon” in Mangush in Donetsk region overnight on April 17.
In a statement, the military said the strike was conducted using drones operated by its medium-range strike units. Multiple explosions and large fires were reported at the site following the strike, Caliber.Az reports.
According to Ukrainian officials, the “Rubicon” centre plays a significant role in Russia’s drone operations in the war. It is said to deploy a wide range of unmanned systems used for both reconnaissance and attack missions.
These reportedly include first-person-view drones, strike drones, and surveillance platforms such as the ZALA drone and Orlan drone, as well as other aerial and maritime unmanned systems.
The Ukrainian military said the facility supported operations against Ukraine’s defence forces, making it a strategic target. The extent of the damage from the strike has not yet been independently verified.
