Ukraine’s FM to discuss €90 billion EU credit package in Luxembourg talks
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha is expected to join EU foreign ministers via videoconference on April 21 in Luxembourg, as discussions continue over the potential unblocking of up to €90 billion in financial assistance for Ukraine covering 2026–2027.
According to European diplomats, the talks will focus on both battlefield developments and the next steps required to advance the proposed credit package, including the political conditions attached to its approval, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
EU foreign ministers are also set to brief Sybiha on the bloc’s internal deliberations as they seek consensus on the funding mechanism, which remains subject to political agreement among member states.
The meeting comes amid shifting political dynamics in Hungary following recent elections, where Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s party suffered a defeat, a development seen by some officials as potentially affecting Budapest’s stance on EU-level financial support for Kyiv.
