IndiGo plane collides with pole during parking at Indian airport VIDEO

An IndiGo aircraft collided with a parking stand pole while being positioned at Srinagar International Airport on September 4 morning, with images from the scene showing the metal structure knocked sideways following the impact, NDTV reports.

The flight, operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar, was involved in the incident while being positioned at Bay No. 6 at around 9 a.m.

"IndiGo flight 6E 225, operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar on 4 September came in contact with a parking stand pole during parking, after safely landing at Srinagar International Airport," the airline said in a statement.

All passengers and crew members were reported safe, with no injuries. They were safely deboarded from the aircraft using manual aircraft stairs.

"All customers and crew are safe and have deplaned the aircraft. In line with established protocols, the relevant authorities were immediately informed, and together we are investigating the matter. The aircraft has been grounded for necessary maintenance and will resume operations after securing required clearances," the airline said.

Airport operations remained normal following the incident, with flight arrivals and departures continuing as scheduled.

The airline stressed that the safety and security of its customers and staff remains its topmost priority.
