Czech PM offers covert radar system to secure Strait of Hormuz
17 April 2026 16:48
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has said his country will offer a passive surveillance system to support international efforts to reopen the blocked Strait of Hormuz.
Dozens of countries are expected to take part in a conference organized by the leaders of France and the United Kingdom, aimed at strengthening security for shipping through the strategic waterway, Associated Press reports.
Babiš said the system could be deployed once a ceasefire is in place in the war between the United States and Israel against Iran, or after the conflict ends.
The Czech-made passive radar systems do not emit electromagnetic energy, making them difficult to detect.
