Media: US to hold off on Russian strike pending UN talks
The United States is expected to hold off on any decision regarding long-range missile strikes on Russian territory until after discussions at the UN General Assembly.
"The US is unlikely to make a decision on deep strikes into Russian territory before the political debates at the UN General Assembly," Bloomberg's article states, per Caliber.Az.
The US faces pressure from some NATO members pushing for a more aggressive stance on Russia.
A day earlier, President Joe Biden indicated that his administration is considering lifting the ban on using long-range weapons supplied to Ukraine for strikes on Russian territory.
Responding to a journalist's question, Biden acknowledged that this issue is currently being reviewed.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that the topic would be discussed during Biden’s upcoming meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on 13 September.
