Poland offers NATO to shoot down missiles over Ukraine, President Duda says

President Andrzej Duda has said that Poland proposed to NATO member states to shoot down missiles over Ukraine back in February during a Paris conference.

According to him, Warsaw then raised the issue of the alliance's defence of its countries' territory when NATO missiles fly over Ukraine's territory, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Duda noted that air defense batteries and aviation that would shoot down these missiles should be on the territory of the countries that are members of the alliance. He believes that such actions on the part of NATO would be legitimate.

Duda made his statement during a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Shimonite in Kiev. It is being broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Ukrainian president's office.
