President Aliyev allocates financial assistance to religious organizations
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed on February 8 an order "On the provision of financial assistance to religious organizations."
According to the document, 1 million manats ($588,000) will be allocated to the Caucasian Muslims Office from the Reserve Fund of the President, provided for in the state budget for 2023; 350,000 manats ($205,000) will be allocated to the Baku and Azerbaijan diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church; 350,000 manats ($205,000) to the religious community of the Mountain Jews of Baku; 350,000 manats ($205,000) to the Baku religious community of Jews Europe; 350,000 manats ($205,000) to the Apostolic Prefecture of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, and 350,000 manats ($205,000) Albanian-Udi Christian religious community, the president's press service informs.
In addition, in order to provide material support to other non-Islamic religious communities, the President ordered to allocate 350,000 manats ($205,000) to the Spiritual Values Propaganda Fund under the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with Religious Organizations.
