President Aliyev signs decree to protect children from harmful digital content
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on measures to protect children from harmful content and influence in the digital environment, according to the official website of the head of state.
The Cabinet of Ministers is tasked with preparing draft legal acts within three months to safeguard children from harmful online content and social media influence, including implementing age restrictions for social media registration.
The legal acts must be developed with input from relevant government agencies, scientific institutions, experts, and civil society organisations, taking international experience into account.
Additionally, the Cabinet is instructed to establish rules for the use of mobile and electronic devices in preschool groups and general education institutions.
