Russian Defence Ministry claims large-scale strike on Ukrainian infrastructure
The Russian Ministry of Defence has said that Russian forces carried out a large-scale strike using long-range high-precision weapons and strike drones against targets in Ukraine.
According to the statement, the operation was conducted in response to what Moscow described as Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure on Russian territory.
The ministry claimed that the strikes involved air-, land- and sea-launched precision weapons, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles. It said that facilities of Ukraine’s military-industrial sector and elements of the fuel and energy infrastructure were hit in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
The statement also reported strikes on military airfield infrastructure across several regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv oblasts.
