Turkish Defence Minister examines “Pençe Kilit” operation in Iraq PHOTO/VIDEO
The Turkish Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar has held a meeting in the videoconference format with commanders of subdivisions engaged in the Pençe-Kilit (Claw-Lock) anti-terror operation in the northern Iraq.
Turkiye’s Ministry of National Defense announced this on its Twitter page, Caliber.Az reports.
The minister, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Yasar Guler and the commanders of the military tranches, arrived in the Operational Center of the Land Forces, from where he watched the progress of fulfilling combat missions.
Akar was informed about the situation on the spot and gave the relevant instructions.
The Turkish minister also said that the anti-terror campaign in the Iraqi Metina, Zap, Avashin-Basyan regions is conducted with the support of aviation. Special forces were deployed in northern Iraq.
As of the morning of April 22, at least 42 militants of the PKK terrorist organization have been neutralized in the Pençe Kilit anti-terrorist campaign zone in northern Iraq.
