Russia dismisses Ukraine's accusations of maritime violations as "groundless"

23 September 2024 15:22

The Russian Foreign Ministry has firmly rejected Ukraine's allegations regarding violations of its rights in the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov, and the Kerch Strait, labelling them as "unfounded" and "baseless".

This assertion was made by Gennady Kuzmin, Ambassador-at-Large, of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during hearings in The Hague, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

Kuzmin emphasized that Ukraine's claims lack any credible evidence, describing them as “completely groundless” and “hopeless.”

His remarks reflect Russia's ongoing stance in the face of international scrutiny over its maritime activities in the region.

The tensions surrounding maritime rights continue to escalate, with both nations entrenched in their positions. Russia's denial of the allegations comes amid broader geopolitical conflicts involving Ukraine and its allies, further complicating the situation in the Black Sea and surrounding areas.
