23 July 2026 11:40

An infrastructure facility belonging to the trunk oil pipeline system operated by Transneft–Ural was reportedly attacked on the morning of July 23, according to local accounts and open-source analysis.

Residents in the Republic of Bashkortostan reported hearing explosions and seeing a fire earlier in the day.

Independent outlet ASTRA said its analysis of eyewitness footage indicates that the target was the linear production and dispatch station (LPDS) “Subkhankulovo.” The facility is part of Transneft–Ural’s trunk oil pipeline network and is located in the Tuymazinsky District, near the village of Subkhankulovo.

LPDS facilities are used for receiving and pumping crude oil through trunk pipelines, managing dispatch operations for oil transportation, storing oil in tank farms, and supporting technological processes related to pipeline transport.

According to data from EnergyBase, the Subkhankulovo station is integrated into several major trunk oil pipelines in the region.
