Russian company develops armoured versions of Volga vehicles

22 July 2026 20:33

Russian vehicle-armouring company ArmorGroup is developing armored versions of two models from the revived Volga brand, according to information published on the company’s website.

The company is working on armoured versions of the Volga C50 sedan and the flagship Volga K50 crossover. The vehicles are based on Geely models — the Preface sedan and Monjaro SUV, respectively.

ArmorGroup has not disclosed the vehicles’ protection levels or expected release dates.

The company, which has been developing armoured vehicles since 2006, has also worked on armoured versions of models including the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, Tank 500, Lexus LX600 and various Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Sales of three models from the revived Volga brand began in Russia on June 19. The C50 sedan is priced from 3 million rubles ($37,600), the K40 crossover from 2.85 million rubles ($35,700), and the flagship K50 from 4.35 million rubles ($54,500), excluding promotions and special offers.

The brand sold 129 vehicles in Russia during its first partial month of sales, according to figures reported on July 21.
