Kobakhidze: Georgia places strong focus on partnership with Azerbaijan

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said the country aims to leverage its strategic geographical position to become a multifunctional regional hub, while highlighting closer cooperation with Azerbaijan and other regional partners.

Speaking about Georgia’s economic prospects, Kobakhidze said Tbilisi was working to expand international ties, with a particular focus on relations with countries in Asia, Central Asia, as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia and Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

He said Georgia’s network of free trade agreements and its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia provide favourable conditions for attracting foreign investment and strengthening economic links.

“Georgia can become a hub for a wide range of countries,” Kobakhidze said, stressing the importance of making full use of the country’s strategic advantages.

The prime minister also pointed to the growing importance of cooperation with Singapore, saying that recent discussions between the two countries covered key sectors including aviation, information technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare and education.
