Ukraine ratifies free trade deal with Türkiye after presidential approval

01 August 2026 09:33

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed into law the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Ukraine and Türkiye, completing the country's domestic approval process for the bilateral trade deal.

According to information published on the Verkhovna Rada's website, the agreement provides for the mutual elimination of tariffs on a range of goods and is intended to strengthen economic cooperation while expanding market access for producers in both countries, Caliber.Az reports.

With Zelenskyy's signature, the ratification law has officially entered into force.

Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, approved the agreement on July 14. Türkiye completed its own ratification process on August 2, 2024.

Ukraine and Türkiye signed the Free Trade Agreement on February 3, 2022, following 15 years of negotiations and preparatory work aimed at deepening bilateral trade and economic ties.
