Azerbaijan has restored its sovereignty as result of anti-terror measures

As a result of the initiation and successful completion of anti-terrorist measures, Azerbaijan regained its sovereignty at around 1:00 p.m. on September 19.

According to AZERTAC, President Ilham Aliyev announced this in his address to the people.

Noting that our military demonstrated great heroism, courage and professionalism as a result of the anti-terrorist measures, the Head of State emphasized: "Our military has demonstrated heroism and professionalism and have earned significant military achievements despite being in difficult terrain, with fortifications built by the enemy over the years as a result of great engineering works and despite the location of the enemy positions on the high ground and in advantageous places. A substantial part of the army has been completely destroyed, which had been illegally deployed by the Armenian state to Azerbaijani territories and had not yet been withdrawn, despite Armenia’s commitments. Military equipment was destroyed and disabled".
