President Aliyev stresses momentum behind Azerbaijan-Tajikistan partnership In message marking Independence Day

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has hailed Tajikistan’s progress over the past 35 years under President Emomali Rahmon and reaffirmed Baku’s commitment to strengthening the countries’ strategic partnership in a congratulatory message marking Tajikistan’s Independence Day.

In a congratulatory letter to Rahmon, Aliyev extended his “most sincere congratulations and best wishes” to the Tajik president and, through him, to the entire Tajik people on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.

“Over the past thirty-five years, thanks to your visionary and resolute leadership, Tajikistan has made remarkable progress in state-building, internal stability, and socio-economic development, while steadily raising its authority and standing on the global stage,” Aliyev said.

He added that the history of Tajikistan’s independence and all of the country’s achievements were “inextricably linked” to Rahmon’s name.

Aliyev also emphasised the deepening friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, stressing the importance of further strengthening bilateral ties.

“It is gratifying that the bond of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, rooted in shared religious, cultural, and historical ties, continues to strengthen and be enriched with new substance day by day,” he said.

The Azerbaijani president expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, built on mutual trust and support, would “continue its upward trajectory and grow stronger through our joint efforts.”

Aliyev concluded by wishing Rahmon robust health, happiness and success in his responsibilities, and the people of Tajikistan lasting peace, well-being and prosperity.
