Rosatom declares readiness to cooperate with Azerbaijan in energy sector

The Russian state atomic energy corporation Rosatom outlined its vision for a strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, identifying the energy sector as a key focus area.

"Azerbaijan is a priority region for Rosatom. We see promising areas for the development of strategic partnerships, primarily in the energy sector," the corporation stated, according to Trend.

Highlighting its global leadership in nuclear power plant construction, Rosatom emphasized its significant portfolio of orders, with 33 power units currently in various stages of implementation across 10 countries. Among these, 22 units are under construction in 7 countries, solidifying Rosatom's position as a major player in the international nuclear energy landscape.

"Based on the needs of our partners, we are as ready as possible to ensure the involvement of local companies and international consortiums in projects in order to give the client the best technological solution for the best budget," a representative of Rosatom elaborated.

Furthermore, Rosatom underscored its readiness to adapt to diverse project models, leveraging its capabilities and extensive experience to meet the specific requirements of its partners. The corporation expressed its openness to collaboration with Azerbaijani counterparts, provided there is mutual interest in advancing nuclear energy initiatives.

"Rosatom has the capabilities and experience to implement nuclear energy projects according to any model. And we are ready to cooperate in this direction if there is interest from Azerbaijani partners," the statement concluded.
