Macron rules out his resignation

French President Emmanuel Macron has said he will not resign from the French presidency, whatever the result of the snap parliamentary elections.

The president was asked about the risk that the far-right Rassemblement Nationale (RN) party, which was twice ahead of the presidential coalition in the European Parliament elections, would demand his resignation if it wins the parliamentary elections, according to Le Figaro.

"It is not the Rassemblement Nationale (RN) that is writing the constitution and it is not in its spirit," the French leader said when asked what would happen if the far-right RN party, which was twice ahead of the presidential coalition in the European Parliament elections, demanded his resignation if it won the parliamentary elections.
