FM: Ukraine to independently decide on peace talks with Russia

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has firmly stated that Ukraine will not be pressured into peace talks with Russia, asserting the country's independence in making such decisions.

This statement comes amid discussions with international counterparts, including a recent meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

"No one will induce us to negotiate, because it is impossible to induce us. And we will make any decisions ourselves," Kuleba emphasized, responding to questions about potential external influences on Ukraine's stance regarding negotiations with Russia.

Kuleba highlighted that Ukraine's Western partners, despite providing significant military and financial support, are not exerting pressure on the country to enter into peace talks. He noted that these partners respect Ukraine's sovereignty and decision-making autonomy.

"They clearly always say that Ukraine will make its own decision with whom, when, and in what format to negotiate," Kuleba stated, underscoring the consistent message from Ukraine's allies.

The Ukrainian government's firm stance underscores its commitment to maintaining control over its diplomatic and military strategies in the face of ongoing conflict with Russia. This position reflects a broader principle of self-determination and sovereignty in international relations.
