Anadolu: Iran inflicted $2 billion in damage to US military equipment Since Mideast escalation
The United States has lost nearly $2 billion worth of military equipment since the start of its military operation against Iran, Anadolu Agency reported, citing reports and satellite imagery.
According to the agency, Iran has inflicted approximately $1.902 billion in damage on US forces.
The United States reportedly lost three F-15E fighter jets in Kuwait, with replacement costs estimated at around $282 million. Iranian forces also struck a THAAD missile defence system at a facility in the United Arab Emirates, with damage estimated at $500 million, Anadolu said.
The most significant loss was reportedly a radar system valued at $1.1 billion located at a US base in Qatar, which, according to the agency, was hit on the first day of the conflict. Iran also allegedly targeted a support centre of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, where two satellite communication terminals and several buildings were reportedly destroyed.
On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out missile strikes on Iran. In response, Tehran launched attacks on Israel and US military bases across the region.
