Armenian PM gets positive signal from Putin on restoration of railway with Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said he had received a positive signal from Russian President Vladimir Putin to restore the railway with Azerbaijan.
"During talks with the Russian president, we received certain signals or messages. This means that there may be a significant and serious possibility that we will return to work on the restoration of the railway - we are talking about the Horadiz-Mehri-Ordubad-Yeraskh [Arazdeyan] road," Armenian media cites Pashinyan as saying, according to Caliber.Az.
At the same time, he treats the subject with moderate optimism, given past negative experiences.
"If everything we learned and agreed upon yesterday does not deviate from its logic, we will need more investments in the near future in the framework of the Armenian Crossroads project, in particular, in the field of railway rehabilitation," Pashinyan said.
He noted that Armenia has an opportunity to attract such funds. In addition, the Armenian prime minister hopes that international partners will show great interest in this project.
