Kazakh president hails Azerbaijan’s stewardship in boosting CICA’s institutional development
At the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held in Astana, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his sincere thanks to Azerbaijan for its significant contributions to the organization’s growth and institutional strengthening.
Addressing participants, Tokayev acknowledged Azerbaijan’s role as a steadfast partner and commended its high-caliber leadership during its tenure as CICA’s chair, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“I express sincere gratitude to Azerbaijan, a reliable friend of Kazakhstan, for the high level of presidency in the Organization and tireless efforts to strengthen dialogue, trust and partnership, as well as for the contribution to the institutional development of CICA,” he remarked.
The Kazakh leader also outlined Kazakhstan’s strategic priorities in sectors such as energy, digitalization, logistics, and agriculture. He underscored ongoing infrastructure modernization projects, carried out in close collaboration with international partners, including the development and refurbishment of seaports, highways, and rail networks.
Highlighting the pivotal role of innovation, Tokayev emphasized that “digital transformation and artificial intelligence will be the basis of a new stage of the country’s development.” He further stressed Kazakhstan’s commitment to building a sustainable economy integrated into global value chains and aligned with climate objectives and sustainable development goals.
“To achieve these long-term goals, we are committed to working closely with our international partners. I would like to take this opportunity to emphasise the special role of the diplomatic community in facilitating the implementation of this important strategy,” President Tokayev concluded.
