Foreign ministry: Attempts to "cancel" Russia have failed

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said attempts to "cancel" Russia internationally have failed, arguing that the country remains an active participant in international affairs.

Speaking to Russian media, Zakharova said journalists had almost stopped asking questions about Russia’s international isolation because, in her view, the failure of the policy had become apparent.

“Everyone has really come to understand that Russia cannot be cancelled. (...) They can try to do whatever they want, that is their problem. But Russia was, is and will be,” Zakharova said.
