The Special Forces Command of the Turkish General Staff has for the first time demonstrated a tracked unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) armed with a 7.62×51 mm Gatling-type machine gun.
The newly revealed vehicle features a tracked, armoured unmanned platform equipped with a stabilized turret mounting a multi-barrel rotary machine gun, functionally similar to a Minigun, Caliber.Az reports, citing the X page of the Turkish defence portal, SavunmaSanayiST.com.

The UGV employs a belt-fed ammunition system housed in a container, allowing sustained fire capability. Its robust tracked design enables it to traverse difficult terrain while performing perimeter defence, convoy escort, and suppression of static enemy positions. The system is remotely operated and is potentially adaptable for autonomous navigation, allowing operators to engage targets from a safe distance.
The vehicle’s tracked chassis and rotating weapon system draw parallels to Russia’s Uran-9 and the U.S. MAARS UGV, but with a lighter calibre suited to asymmetric warfare and rapid manoeuvring in urban or mountainous environments.
Compared to other armed UGVs, the Gatling gun configuration provides a clear tactical advantage, delivering continuous, high-rate suppressive fire unmatched by conventional single-barrel weapons. This system extends the proven effectiveness of the Minigun concept—long successful in air and naval applications—to ground forces, providing Turkish special forces with a powerful tool for dominating contested zones or repelling ambushes with overwhelming firepower.

In addition to this new UGV, other unmanned systems currently deployed by special forces were also showcased. During operations, while the Special Forces Command team advances toward a target building in a PARS armoured vehicle, the “Armed Articulated Robot” UGV moves ahead to support the troops.
