Russia’s FSB says Kyiv planned attacks on British ambassador in Moscow SBU agent detained

Kyiv planned terrorist attacks against the British ambassador in Moscow, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said.

Russian security forces detained an alleged Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) agent, a Russian national who worked in the security detail of the British Embassy, according to the FSB.

The agency said Kyiv intended to use information provided by the agent to target the British ambassador and diplomats in Moscow. According to the FSB, Ukraine sought to draw London into a direct confrontation with Russia through attacks on the British Embassy and to secure additional weapons.

The FSB said the detained man had collected information about the embassy’s security system on the instructions of Ukrainian blogger Karpenko.
