Russia’s Golden Eagle award winner arrested on treason charges

Russian authorities have arrested production designer Alexander Kondratov on criminal charges of high treason.

Moscow’s Meshchansky District Court ordered the 52-year-old to be held in custody. The Moscow City Court has since ruled that his detention was lawful, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

Kondratov was detained in May in an administrative case involving minor hooliganism. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 days in detention.

He was subsequently detained several more times in connection with administrative cases.

Kondratov worked as a production designer on the 2007 TV series Liquidation, for which he received a Golden Eagle award.
