Dagestan authorities report fires after drone attack on Makhachkala VIDEO

Authorities in Russia’s Dagestan region have confirmed fires at the port of Makhachkala and a theatre in the city following a drone attack.

Acting regional head Fyodor Shchukin said air defence forces had destroyed all the aerial targets and that falling debris caused fires at port infrastructure and the Avar Musical and Drama Theatre named after Gamzat Tsadasa, ASTRA reports.

He said the fires had been extinguished and that there were no deaths or injuries.

Shchukin said the damaged parts of the theatre, including its roof, would be repaired promptly so that performances and rehearsals could resume.

Earlier, ASTRA said, based on footage from eyewitnesses, that drones had apparently targeted the Makhachkala Commercial Seaport and the Avar Musical and Drama Theatre.
