Media: Iran's IRGC gains access to US technologies

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has gained access to US military technologies after capturing a US unmanned underwater vehicle near the Strait of Hormuz, Fars reports, citing sources.

The report said the vehicle is equipped with a suite of sensors, environmental monitoring systems, cameras and data transmission equipment.

Iranian specialists are also studying its autonomous control, navigation and secure communications systems.

Fars sources claim that studying the captured equipment could enable Tehran to obtain information about US underwater shipbuilding technologies and use it to reverse-engineer its own unmanned underwater vehicles.
