Azerbaijan builds new tunnels on Zangazur Corridor PHOTO
Construction of the new Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband road (part of the Zangazur corridor), the foundation of which has been laid by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, continues at full speed.
The road is designed and is being built in line with the first technical category, according to Caliber.Az.
It begins in the village of Ahmadbayli in the Fuzuli district. The first 77 km of the highway will be six-lane, while the remaining 46.6 km will have four lanes. The road will measure 29.5 m and 21.5 m, respectively, depending on the type of terrain on its route.
The 123.6 km long road will feature 15 bridges, five overpasses, and 54 underground passages. Construction of 14 bridges, three overpasses, and 38 underground passages is currently in progress. The construction work is planned to be completed in 2024.
The road, being a part of the Hajigabul-Horadiz-Aghband-Zangazur highway, is important in terms of connecting Zangilan with other regions and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
