SOCAR Türkiye unveils groundbreaking carbon tech revolution in oil refining

The oil and gas refining sector is undergoing a significant transformation as sustainability and innovation take centre stage, according to Elchin Ibadov, CEO of SOCAR Türkiye Enerji.

"One of the key developments catching my attention is the integration of carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technologies into oil refining and petrochemical processes," he noted, Caliber.Az reports.

These advancements, Ibadov explained, enable refineries not only to reduce emissions but also to convert CO₂ into valuable products such as synthetic fuels and chemicals.

"This innovation is transforming the oil refining industry, combining profitability with environmental care – a true win-win scenario for the sector," Ibadov wrote.

He emphasized that SOCAR Türkiye takes pride in exploring and implementing cutting-edge solutions. As the largest foreign investor in Türkiye, the company remains focused on creating value while promoting sustainability across all its operations.
