Azerbaijan sees AI, digital infrastructure as drivers of investment
Artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure can serve as cross-cutting drivers of investment and productivity across Azerbaijan’s economy, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said.
Jabbarov made the remarks in a post on X following a special session titled “Azerbaijan Infrastructure Investment Dialogue: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Infrastructure,” organised by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and BlackRock as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, Caliber.Az reports.
“The discussions highlighted the investment potential of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, energy, and transport and logistics corridors,” Jabbarov wrote.

He said Azerbaijan’s economic diversification was already delivering tangible results, while the next stage required greater focus on increasing productivity, technological capacity and export potential across the non-oil economy.
“Artificial intelligence and digitalization can serve as cross-cutting drivers of investment and productivity across multiple sectors,” Jabbarov said.
He added that expanding energy capacity, data centres and high-performance computing infrastructure, alongside the use of advanced technologies in industry, logistics, agriculture and other sectors, offered significant potential.
“In cooperation with international partners, we attach particular importance to attracting long-term capital, advanced technologies and management expertise, while expanding access to global markets,” Jabbarov said.
