AIIF 2026 discusses economic cooperation between South Caucasus, Central Asia

Participants in the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) have discussed ways to expand economic cooperation between the South Caucasus and Central Asia, increase investment opportunities and strengthen regional connectivity.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy said the discussions focused on strengthening mutual trust and economic ties among regional countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Participants also exchanged views on expanding investment and financing opportunities, the contribution of the private sector and institutional mechanisms, and promoting closer economic integration across the Caspian basin.

Taleh Ziyadov, an adviser to the Azerbaijani economy minister, highlighted Azerbaijan’s role as one of the key platforms for economic cooperation between the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

Participants noted that the development of the Middle Corridor, green energy, mutual investment and joint transport projects were strengthening regional economic integration.

The talks took place during a panel session titled Azerbaijan at the Centre of Strategic Partnerships between the South Caucasus and Central Asia: A Key Driver of Regional Cooperation, which was moderated by Orkhan Amashov, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of AnewZ TV.
