Standard Chartered network could strengthen Azerbaijan’s link to global finance

Standard Chartered Bank’s international reach could create new opportunities for Azerbaijan’s financial markets to gain deeper access to the global financial system.

The prospects were discussed at a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Central Bank Deputy Chairman Ali Ahmadov and Jojo Ow, Executive Director for Debt Capital Markets at Standard Chartered Bank, in Baku, Caliber.Az reports.

Discussions covered the macroeconomic environment and trends in global financial markets, along with current developments in foreign exchange reserve management, sovereign bonds and money markets.

Participants also explored prospects for cooperation between the two organisations and exchanged views on initiatives of mutual interest, as well as opportunities for sharing knowledge and experience, the Central Bank said.
