Azerbaijan, GIP discuss investment opportunities, Middle Corridor development

Azerbaijan and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) have discussed prospects for expanding cooperation, investment opportunities and participation in regional projects, including the development of the Middle Corridor.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev announced this on X following a meeting with Adebayo Ogunlesi, founding partner, chairman and CEO of GIP, on the sidelines of the second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.

“During the meeting, we discussed prospects for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and GIP, investment opportunities, and participation in regional projects, including the development of the Middle Corridor,” Nabiyev said.

The minister noted that the sides also exchanged views on potential investment opportunities in logistics, digital infrastructure and data centres, taking into account Azerbaijan’s growing capabilities in transport, logistics and digital infrastructure.

The Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, connects China and Central Asia with the South Caucasus and Europe via the Caspian Sea.
