Azerbaijan, World Bank discuss new agricultural project PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture and the World Bank representatives have discussed the development of the Competitive, Resilient Agricultural and Irrigation Services (CRAIS) project, aimed at improving the competitiveness of agriculture and the efficiency of irrigation and drainage services.

The ministry said the sides focused on the role and areas of activity of the Agricultural Credit and Development Agency, a body under the ministry, within the framework of the project, as well as on financing, implementation and target beneficiaries, Caliber.Az reports.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zaur Aliyev briefed World Bank representatives on the key areas of the State Programme for 2026–2030 on the development of agricultural production and processing, fisheries and aquaculture in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Aliyev said Azerbaijan was interested in expanding cooperation with the World Bank to improve the competitiveness and resilience of the agricultural sector, introduce modern financing mechanisms and implement new initiatives in agriculture.
