Azerbaijan kicks off Baku Energy Week with foundation laying of new power plants

The foundation for three power plants to be built in Azerbaijan by Masdar Company will be laid today, marking the opening of Baku Energy Week.
According to Report, Advisor to Azerbaijan's Energy Minister, Zamina Aliyeva, informed reporters that the total capacity of the three power plants will be 1,000 MW.
Contracts have already been signed with Masdar Company, which will build two solar power plants in Bilasuvar (445 MW) and Neftchala (315 MW), and one wind power plant in Garadagh, Absheron (240 MW).
Aliyeva stated that the total investment in these projects is estimated at about $1 billion.
