Türkiye, Azerbaijan boost transit cooperation with nearly tripled e-certificate quota
Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu has said that the quota for the unified transit certificate for transport between Azerbaijan and Türkiye nearly tripled, increasing from 35,000 to 100,000.
He stated that 81 per cent of goods from Türkiye to Azerbaijan are exported by road transport, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The increase in e-documentation aims to speed up trade and enhance the efficiency of shipments. The minister also noted that as of December 14, e-transit documents have been put into use.
"The first vehicle with an e-passport crossed the border with Azerbaijan as part of the pilot project. The quota for e-documents in transit transportation is 15,000 per year, while for bilateral transport, it stands at 500. Work to transition quotas to a digital format is ongoing," he added.
Earlier, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Fuat Oktay described the relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan as a role model for the world.
Oktay emphasised that the bonds between the two nations have been further solidified through the Shusha Declaration, highlighting the strength of the bilateral cooperation.
He noted that Türkiye and Azerbaijan have consistently supported each other through both joyous and challenging times, underscoring the enduring solidarity between the two countries.
