Azerbaijan-Russia trade falls by nearly $1 billion
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to $2.11 billion in January-July 2026, down 31.3%, or $959.968 million, from the same period in 2025, according to data from Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee shared with Caliber.Az.
Russia accounted for 7.22% of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover, placing it fifth among the country’s largest trading partners. In January-July 2025, Russia ranked third, with a 10.64% share of Azerbaijan’s total trade.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Russia increased by 3.9% year-on-year to $749.55 million during the first seven months of 2026.
However, Russia’s share of Azerbaijan’s total exports fell to 3.88%, compared with 4.74% in the same period of 2025.
Imports from Russia declined by 1.7 times to $1.36 billion. Russia’s share of Azerbaijan’s total imports fell to 13.77%, from 17.25% a year earlier.
