28 August 2026 16:49

A new shipment of grain from Russia to Armenia is set to transit through Azerbaijan, further expanding the flow of goods between the two countries via Azerbaijani territory.

As Caliber.Az reports per local media, six railcars carrying 420 tons of wheat and four railcars loaded with 280 tons of barley will depart from Azerbaijan Railways’ Bilajari station for Boyuk-Kasik station.

The latest shipment follows the transit of more than 54,000 tons of grain from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijan. Other goods previously transported along the route include around 9,000 tons of fertilizers, 1,414 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal and 334 tons of timber.

Azerbaijan has also supplied Armenia with petroleum products, exporting approximately 15,000 tons of diesel fuel and around 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline.
