Azerbaijan’s SOCAR, Chinese bank discuss energy cooperation

President of Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company SOCAR Rovshan Najaf has met with a delegation led by Wang Kang, Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of China, to discuss issues of cooperation in the energy sector.

The sides noted that cooperation between SOCAR and Chinese companies and financial institutions has been developing successfully, with major projects underway across several areas, Caliber.Az reports, citing SOCAR.

Najaf briefed the delegation on SOCAR’s projects in Azerbaijan and abroad, as well as initiatives planned for the future.

The meeting also covered projects undertaken by the Export-Import Bank of China, a state-owned financial institution supporting overseas investment and international economic cooperation.

The parties discussed potential cooperation in various areas of the energy sector, including oil refining, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
