Azerbaijan promotes tourism in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan PHOTO
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board held a series of events in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from August 21 to 27 to promote the country’s tourism opportunities.
The program involved eight representatives of the local tourism industry, including Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), and covered the cities of Shymkent, Almaty, Astana and Tashkent, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency.
More than 400 travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, media representatives and other tourism industry stakeholders took part in the events in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Presentations highlighted Azerbaijan’s rich year-round tourism opportunities, the latest developments in the sector and various tourism products.
Participants were provided with information on holidays along the Caspian Sea coast, ski resorts, wellness tourism, gastronomy, adventure and active tourism, cultural tourism opportunities and the country’s modern tourism infrastructure. Azerbaijan’s rich culture, national cuisine and traditional dances were also showcased.
According to State Tourism Agency statistics, 62,079 tourists from Kazakhstan visited Azerbaijan in January-July 2026, up 5.5% from the same period last year. The number of visitors from Uzbekistan reached 42,288, marking a 40.2% increase.
