Azerbaijan’s National Depository Centre enters key European capital markets network
Azerbaijan’s National Depository Centre (NDC) has joined the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA), marking a step toward deeper integration of the country’s capital market infrastructure with European financial markets.
The decision was approved by the ECSDA Board of Directors at a meeting in Stockholm held as part of the PostTrade 360° 2026 event, Caliber.Az reports, citing the NDC.
The NDC said membership in the association would help strengthen the integration of Azerbaijan’s capital market infrastructure with European financial markets, promote the adoption of international best practices and standards, and expand institutional cooperation with leading central securities depositories.
“Membership of the NDC in ECSDA is important for further integrating Azerbaijan’s capital market infrastructure into European financial markets, facilitating the adoption of advanced international practices and standards, and strengthening institutional cooperation with leading central securities depositories,” the centre said.
ECSDA is a major professional platform representing Europe’s post-trade ecosystem and central securities depositories. The association comprises 40 national and international central securities depositories.
Its membership includes leading financial market infrastructure providers such as Euroclear, Clearstream, SIX SIS, Nasdaq CSD, and Euronext Securities.
