Experts from Azerbaijan, other countries to gather for transport summit in Kazakhstan
The third International Conference on "Transport Planning and Traffic Flow Modeling" will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan at the Academy of Logistics and Transport (ALT University) on January 30-31, 2025.
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are expected to participate in the event, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
The conference will bring together officials from transport ministries, city transport departments, transportation, scientific and research organisations, experts from international consulting firms, as well as participants from public and non-governmental organisations in the transport sector, and faculty members and students from higher educational institutions.
On the first day of the event, representatives from various organisations will present reports on the operation and development of urban transport systems. The second day will feature a workshop for software users on creating macro- and micro-models of transportation, along with a technical visit to the Almaty Dispatch Centre.
The summit will be held with the support of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international companies from Kazakhstan, Germany, and Uzbekistan.
The need for ongoing, collaborative discussions on pressing transport development issues among representatives from Russia and neighbouring countries has been growing recently.
Specialised meetings are held every month. For example, on October 3-4, 2024, Moscow hosted the first international scientific and practical conference on “Urban Passenger Transport Development in CIS member states: Challenges, Achievements, and Prospects.” On November 19, international transport cooperation issues in the “CIS Plus” format were discussed for the first time during a dedicated panel session at the 18th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia.”
