Azerbaijan–Sudan dialogue underscores shared vision for global and regional affairs PHOTO
On April 11, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of the Sudan, in Antalya.
During the meeting, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan underlined the historical ties between Sudan and Azerbaijan, describing Azerbaijan as a country of considerable regional and global significance, Caliber.Az reports, citing domestic media.
He emphasized that Sudan places great importance on advancing its relations with Azerbaijan across multiple sectors.
He noted that there are promising opportunities for cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the fields of mining, oil, energy, infrastructure, and investment.
The discussion also touched upon potential collaboration in the areas of education and training.
President Ilham Aliyev warmly recalled Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan’s participation in the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement member states in 2019 and the productive conversations held during that visit. He praised the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Sudan since that time.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on organizing reciprocal visits by economic delegations to help deepen bilateral cooperation, as well as strengthening collaboration within the Non-Aligned Movement and other international platforms.
