Azerbaijani president receives Croatian parliamentary delegation PHOTO
On October 8, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan met a Croatian parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Gordan Jandroković.
During his first visit to Azerbaijan, Jandroković praised the capital, Baku, for its beauty and congratulated President Aliyev on his contributions to the Azerbaijani state, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He also welcomed the recent progress in Washington aimed at advancing the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The Croatian speaker highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the two countries and noted the potential to expand interparliamentary cooperation.
He underscored the work of interparliamentary friendship groups and stressed the importance of collaboration among parliamentary committees.
President Aliyev thanked Jandroković for his remarks and emphasised the historic significance of the agreements reached with Armenia. He also praised the development of Azerbaijan-Croatia relations, noting Croatia’s consistent support for Azerbaijan’s engagement with the European Union and NATO.
Both sides discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation across energy, investment, tourism, and other sectors, as well as prospects for closer collaboration within international parliamentary organisations.
