Baku, Washington discuss Southern Gas Corridor, gas transport to Europe

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy at the Bureau of Energy Resources Laura Lohman as part of the Baku Energy Week event.

The meeting featured a lively discussion about the Southern Gas Corridor's activities, including the transportation of natural gas to Turkiye and European countries, as well as the corridor's expansion, according to APA.

During the conversation, details on ongoing and planned projects for the generation and export of electricity from renewable energy sources were shared.

The importance of mutual cooperation in achieving goals related to both the use of the Caspian Sea's huge wind potential and increasing the capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor was noted.
