Biden administration nixes plan to send US contractors to Ukraine Amid security concerns

The Biden administration has decided against sending US contractors to Ukraine for the maintenance of military equipment supplied by Western allies.

This decision follows recommendations from US officials who deemed the deployment of contractors too risky, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

The intelligence community reportedly expressed concerns about the security risks associated with sending US personnel to service equipment such as F-16 fighter jets. As a result, Washington anticipates that European nations will take on the primary responsibility for the upkeep of these advanced systems.

Despite the current decision, the administration has not entirely ruled out the possibility of deploying US contractors to Ukraine at a later date.
