Hezbollah pledges strong response to Israel for pager blast tragedy
Hezbollah has vowed that Israel will be held accountable for the recent explosions of communication devices in Lebanon.
The movement issued a statement asserting its stance on the incident, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“Hezbollah will persist in its support for Gaza as usual. This ongoing process is distinct from the severe retaliation that Israel should anticipate in response to the massacre inflicted upon the Lebanese people on Tuesday,” the organization declared.
The catastrophic explosions on September 17 impacted several areas, including southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and Damascus. Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad reported that the blasts resulted in 12 deaths (including 2 children) and approximately 3,000 injuries, with around 400 individuals in critical condition. The explosions were caused by the detonation of pagers used by Hezbollah members and potentially others.
A high-ranking Lebanese security source suggested that “Israel infiltrated the communication system of the individual devices and activated them remotely.” Hezbollah officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the pager bombings as the “largest security breach” the group has encountered in nearly a year of conflict with Israel.
